Olympic National Park, which includes the Olympic Mountains and the Hoh Rain Forest, occupies most of Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. And that makes Bogachiel, a state park on the peninsula’s western edge, the perfect home base. Both the Pacific Coast and the Hoh are within an hour’s drive. The riverside park is “beautiful on its own,” says Dan Moore, an advisor for Roam Beyond, “but what is most spectacular is the access it provides for other incredible hiking, such as Bogachiel River Trail.” Plus, it’s “in the heart of the temperate rain forest, and humongous trees in the forest will blow the mind of any visitor.”

ROAM Beyond is certainly one of those businesses that have sustainability at their core and have also adapted well. We provide a travel solution that is arguably more sustainable than living in a traditional home. Each glamping trailer or mobile dwellings, contains robust solar power systems, compostable toilets, and have the ability to “leave no trace” in remote locations.

"Nestled within the lush coastal forests and misty mountains of Washington state, ROAM Beyond’s rustically refined “glampers” and unplugged set-ups are redefining what it means to go off-road in the era of Instagram, where using a stylish form of transportation (hello, #vanlife) and access to modern amenities and comforts are just as important as the picturesque location."

"These days there's a seemingly unlimited list of features you can add to a new RV. Want to be able to bring your mom and dad along on a trip but afraid the wheelchair won't fit through the door of a motorhome? There are new design options that open doors for people with scooters and wheelchairs. Want to bring the ATV for an off-road diversion? Just open the back of a toy hauler and load it in. Afraid you won't be able to fit your whole family in a fifth wheel? Pick one with slide-outs and extra sleeping options that meet your needs."

For generations, Americans have ventured into the vast, ancient forests of the United States seeking spiritual, emotional, and physical rejuvenation, indelibly blending the concepts of restoration and peace with being in the woods. That notion of forest wellness still persists to this day, but instead of decamping into the woods to sleep in a tent or going off the grid, the idea of a forest retreat has evolved to include all plush perks we now associate with wellness: extravagant dwellings, stone hot tubs, fine dining, and even air-conditioning. Luxury forest retreats across the United States are rapidly becoming the best way to discover the charms of the forest, combining relaxation with only the best amenities that money can buy. From glamping tents to upscale treehouses to elegant Western-style cabins, these are the top luxury forest getaways in the US.
